Windows 10 Update
Have you upgraded to Windows 10 yet? If not, it is really worth doing! Windows 10 is great and user friendly. Windows 8 was not for everyone and many people who used previous version of Windows hated it, I was one of them. Now windows 10 is GREAT. Whether you already have the update or are waiting in line to get it you will find it to be awesome especially if you know some tricks.
Windows 10 Review
Make Start Button Your Own!, Start button is back just like in Windows 7, which was the major drawback for Windows 8, well at least for me. Not only it is back, you can make it your own, customize to what you need to be there and what you use most and make it work for you. You can add or remove files, folders, programs. Just select ‘pin to start’ by right clicking an icon. And there it is on Start menu, then you can move it by dragging it where you want it to be, you can also put icons in the desired categories.
No longer are the days of choosing the updates you would like to install. Now, you will get them all and automatically and so more efficiently. If you want you still can control the updates you get in the Settings screen. To get there click Start and choose “Settings” and from there “Update & Security” and then “Windows Update”.
Do you like using Control Panel? It is still around and now easier to access. Just right-click the Start button and select “Control Panel”
Search through Windows programs, folders and files is now smarter? Windows 10 has Cortana, which is Microsoft’s solution to Siri and Google Now, your personal assistant, voice activated or you can type. Cortana is very smart too, once you start using her services she will learn your behavior and over time she accesses information faster and faster. Of course, you can just opt to deactivate Cortana, if you would like, just click ‘Not Interested’ the first time she appears. Or you can try her and choose to change the settings later, just ask her how to do it.
Task View and Multiple Desktops
In addition to pressing ALT & TAB to multitask and see the current running programs you can just click the Task View button on the taskbar, it is at the bottom right next to the Search icon, the three little boxes icon. In addition while in the Task View you can click the + button to add additional desktops, you can have a desktop for personal use, the office, family, kids, etc. Each desktop is like a separate computer to help you stay on task and organized. To switch between the desktops just go to Task View and click the one you want to use. Pretty cool!
All in all Windows 10 is pretty cool, sure it is a bit different and takes a bit of getting used to, however, it is a really nice platform and we like it! Enjoy!
